In conjunction with Habitat for Humanity of McHenry County, On Wednesday, April 18, four LPC volunteers worked on construction finishing details for a soon-to-be recipient of a home in Cary, Illinois. The volunteers were Josh Larson, Arek Otaki, Brian Willis and Edie Scurto, all from Kemper Lakes. They worked alongside Habitat for Humanity workers and the future home owner. Despite the frigid temperatures, Arek worked outside installing siding on the house until freezing rain began. Inside, Josh, Brian and Edie were busy installing shelves in closets, hanging closet doors, painting, cleaning, caulking and helping to bring the home ready for occupancy! It was a rewarding event, just like the past years. Another event like this one will be scheduled in the coming months.
